This professional learning and development [PLD] support is for teachers and school leaders of te reo Māori in English medium schools. Priority to immersion Levels 3 and 4.
The expected outcomes:
As a result of this PLD schools will be able to demonstrate evidence of;
- Improved learning and accelerated te reo Māori achievement for ākonga using the Proficiency Target Statements in Te Aho Arataki Marau mō te Ako i Te Reo Māori – Kura Auraki, Curriculum Guidelines of Teaching and Learning Te Reo Māori in English-medium Schools: Years 1 – 13 and/or Paerewa Paetae (NCEA).
- Strengthened relationships with whānau, hapū and local communities.
- Kaiako increase their use of effective teaching and learning pedagogies and methodologies that develop a full range of language competencies.

The methods of delivery and duration of in-depth support is tailored to meet the strengths and needs of allocated schools.
